CNBC reporter Hadley Gamble accused sacked NBCUniversal boss Jeff Shell of sexual harassment, lawyer confirms
CNBC reporter Hadley Gamble has been identified as the employee who accused NBCUniversal boss Jeff Shell of sexual harassment, leading to his dismissal.
Gamble's lawyer, Suzanne McKie of UK-based firm Farore Law, confirmed on Monday her client, who she did not name, had formally accused Shell of "sexual harassment and sex discrimination" before he was fired by the US network on Sunday.
"Given these circumstances it is very disappointing that my client's name has been released and her privacy violated," McKie said in a statement obtained by the Wall Street Journal on Monday.

Gamble has worked at CNBC since 2010, working as an anchor and a reporter for five years before being named senior international correspondent by the network in 2018.
She currently hosts a show called Capital Connections.
Gamble was the last journalist to interview Russian president Vladamir Putin ahead of the country's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Shell served as president of FOX Cable Network Group from 2001 and then as president of Comcast Programming Group.

In 2019 he was announced as the new CEO of NBC Universal.
Shell announced he would be leaving the company on April 23, effective immediately, following an outside investigation into a complaint of inappropriate conduct.
The investigation was led by an outside counsel and focused on the complaint of inappropriate conduct filed by Gamble.

Shell said in a statement he is "truly sorry" to have let his colleagues down.

"Today is my last day as CEO of NBCUniversal. I had an inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company, which I deeply regret," he said.
"I'm truly sorry I let my Comcast and NBCUniversal colleagues down, they are the most talented people in the business and the opportunity to work with them the last 19 years has been a privilege."
Shell has been married to Laura Fey for 20 years and the couple shares two children.
According to CNBC, Shell's team will now be reporting to Comcast President, Mike Cavanagh.

"We are disappointed to share this news with you. We built this company on a culture of integrity. Nothing is more important than how we treat each other," Cavanagh and Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said in a separate statement Sunday.
"You should count on your leaders to create a safe and respectful workplace. When our principles and policies are violated, we will always move quickly to take appropriate action, as we have done here."
Deadline reports Shell and Gamble were involved in an extra-marital affair for 11 years sporadically until it ended approximately two years ago.
