It's officially Tinder's busiest day of the year, so time to get swiping.

Each year, January 2, (otherwise known as 'Dating Sunday'), brings record numbers of singles keen to try their luck at a blossoming new romance.

According to Tinder tonight the prime time slot will be from 7 pm to 10 pm, and it's an occasion hopeful romantics should definitely not miss.

In an official blog post, Tinder also said they'll be launching a new feature on the app — '2022 Goals'.

The feature will allow users to select from a series of '2022 goals' in 'Explore', to find partners with matching goals.

Users can choose from goals like wanting to 'Taste together' in 2022 with their new partner, 'Sweat it together' or even for those who want to 'Complete [their] power couple'.

Speaking to The Latch, Tinder Australia spokesperson Kirsty Dunn said the brand encourages users to give their profiles a fresh new take today.

"Tinder is encouraging members to refresh their bios, review passions and interests, update profile photos, and make the most of the new social experience features in Explore, where matches are made based on chosen common interests or goals."

Tinder has also shared their three top tips for navigating this busy, Dating Sunday:

  1. Freshen up your profile: Share at least three passions or interests — add at least five pictures or videos — write at least 11 words in your bio!
  2. Be online at prime time: 7pm - 10 pm tonight.
  3. Digital first, IRL second: Before meeting in [in real life], Tinder says 'Why not video chat first?'. Take a moment to get to know your match before you plunge into that New Year in-person date.
