JFK. Jr's nephew doubles down on criticism of 'grotesque' TV series: 'He's making a ton of money'

John F. Kennedy Jr.'s nephew has doubled down on his criticism of the TV series Love Story, which chronicle's his late uncle's romance with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.

After previously slamming the Ryan Murphy-helmed show as "grotesque" on social media, Jack Schlossberg, 33, spoke more in depth about why he's so against the series that is captivating audiences around the world.

Love Story revisits the relationship of Kennedy and Bessette Kennedy, one of the most famous couples of the '90s, who both died in July 1999 in a plane crash off Martha's Vineyard alongside Carolyn's sister Lauren Bessette.

Speaking candidly on CBS Sunday Morning, the son of Caroline Kennedy said, "If you want to know someone who's never met anyone in my family, knows nothing about us, talk to Ryan Murphy.

"I would just want people who do watch the show to watch it with one letter in mind, that's a captial 'F' for fiction.

"The guy knows nothing about what he's talking about, and he's making a ton of money on a grotesque display of someone else's life."

"I would hope that Mr. Murphy would donate some of the millions of dollars of profits that he's making to maybe some of the causes that John championed throughout his life," Schlossberg continued.

"Maybe he would donate some of that money to the JFK library to help keep President Kennedy's memory alive, but he's not. He's making money. This is not a documentary."

When probed further, he added, "There's a lot of misinformation now and iconography being used about the Kennedy family, my family, at a time when we really can't afford to confuse people.

"We really need to take every breath that we have to try to make things better.

"So, if Ryan Murphy really cares so much about the Kennedy family, my uncle John, maybe he would try to do something about getting Trump out of power."

Following the news of the show's casting last year, Schlossberg wrote on social media about the show: "For those wondering whether his family was ever consulted, or has anything to do with, the new shows being made about him [JFK. JR], the answer is no."

"For the record, I think admiration for my Uncle John is great. What I don't think is great is profiting off of it in a grotesque way."

Murphy reportedly said on California Gov. Gavin Newsom's podcast: "I thought it was an odd choice to be mad about your relative that you really don't remember."

Schlossberg hit back at this on social media, sharing memories of his late uncle.

"Hey @ryanmurphyproductions: My earliest memories are of John calling me Jackolatern and 'the nudist,' picking me up from school, his Pontiac convertible," he wrote.

"I remember being the ring bearer at his wedding and the day he died. I remember Wyclef singing at his funeral."

Brad Simpson, Executive Producer of Love Story, addressed the criticism in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter about the criticism.

"I understand that this show that we made with sincerity about these people is also the story of a tragedy in some people's lives," he said.

"And for all of us who are making TV shows based on real events, you have to consider your ethical obligation to the family members and approach it with love and kindness."

"What I hope is that when people watch the show, they will see our sincerity."

Schlossberg's mother is Caroline Kennedy, 68, and he is the grandson of late President John F. Kennedy and the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

He is running for congress in New York's 12th district.

His sister Tatiana Schlossberg died at the age of 35 in December last year following a terminal acute myeloid leukemia diagnosis.

"Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning," a statement confirming the news read at the time.

"She will always be in our hearts. George, Edwin and Josephine Moran Ed, Caroline, Jack, Rose and Rory."
