Jacinda Ardern's fiancé shares sweet birthday tribute
She's received resounding praise for the way that she handled the COVID-19 pandemic in New Zealand, and now Jacinda Ardern is celebrating her big four-oh.
The New Zealand PM's fiancé, Clarke Gayford, has posted a sweet tribute to Ardern on his Instagram page.
"I don't really do these posts, but I think a bit of symmetry like the number 40 is worth positing on," Gayford wrote alongside an Instagram photo of the couple.
The photo depicted Gayford and Ardern looking happy and undoubtedly smitten in warm winter outfits.
"Happy Birthday today to my favourite achiever in the whole wide world, someone, who despite everything on her plate, still finds time to squeeze lots of fun, love and happiness into our wee family unit."
Ardern celebrated her 40th birthday on Sunday, the same day that a new poll was released showing Labour is on track to cruise to victory in this year's New Zealand election, which would have no doubt been quite the birthday present.

The result is the strongest result on record for Labour in the country.
Ardern confirmed her engagement to her long-term partner, Gayford, in May 2019 after she was spotted wearing a ring on her left hand, and came almost a year after the birth of their daughter Neve Te Aroha Ardern Gayford in June 2018.
Ms Ardern and Mr Gayford, 43, first met at an awards event in 2012.
