Social media influencer and former Miss Universe Ireland Rozanna Purcell has used her platform to open up to her followers about her own experiences with hair loss, calling the entire ordeal "disheartening."

The influencer has been working at being a more body positive influence on social media. Instagram

"So the hair isn't going to plan," she wrote on her Instagram page.

"Over the last four weeks my hair has been falling out again in chunks and it's been kind of hard to know what to do."

Purcell had previously revealed her struggles with hair loss months earlier when she first started to notice the issue, calling on her followers for help and advice with the condition.

However, it appears as though the hair loss hasn't abated, and the influencer has noticed more hair on her pillow each morning.

"I haven't made any appointments yet as I haven't been going anywhere as I see my family but I think I will once I return to Dublin as it's not getting better. I've been taking supplements and really good care of my hair (except that coconut oil mask now and again) so it's just a bit disheartening," she captioned a photo of her flicking her hair in the ocean.

In another photo she attached to the post, Purcell shows her hair loss side-by-side in the preceding months, with the spot of hair loss growing slightly larger.

"I know it's such a small thing but I guess I never really appreciated how hair makes me feel. In the grand scheme of things lots of others go through much worse especially now and then I feel bad for feeling bad about it," she said.

"Few people have suggested particular hair treatments for the patch but I'm more concerned with why the rest is falling out now," Purcell added.
