Poll reveals the age Aussies think is 'ideal' for getting married
You could argue the ideal age to get married is when you have met the perfect partner, but according to a recent Nine Reader Survey, there is a definitive window in which most Aussies hope to wed.
We asked our readers, "When do you think is the ideal age to get married?" an d the response of those who participated in the survey was overwhelming.
Almost half of respondents say the ideal window to get married is from 26 to 30 years of age, at 45 per cent.

The next most popular age groups for marriage are 20 to 25 and 31 to 35, at 17 per cent each.
Marriage under the age of 20 isn't ideal, according to those surveyed, nor is it ideal to marry over the age of 36.
These results are slightly lower than the median age of marriage, which has increased since 2010, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

According to the most recent Census, the median age of marriage has gone from 29.2 to 30.6 for females and 31.4 to 32.2 for males.
In 2020, nearly 32 per cent of women who did marry were aged 25 to 29 and a further 23.8 per cent were wed between the ages of 30 and 34.
For men, 27.7 per cent were married between from the ages of 25 to 29 and 25.9 per cent were wed between the ages of 30 and 34.
