When exactly to buy supermarket flowers and how to make them last longer, according to an expert

A stunning bouquet of flowers usually comes with a hefty price tag, but it doesn't necessarily need to.

Supermarket flowers, while generally a basic bunch on their own, can be easily transformed for Valentine's Day using some expert advice.

Smith Street Flowers' Head Florist Lynne Dallas, who works closely with Coles' flowers, has revealed her best tips and tricks for turning budget-friendly supermarket-bought blooms into luxurious arrangements.

Dallas says timing is everything, advising love birds consider buying their flowers when they're fresh.
