Try to be utterly realistic about adoption, pregnancy, IVF and all other aspects of childbirth and the world of your own and other people’s children. Are you feeling the revolution again? It’s normal. Or is someone else just revolting? (And I use that word advisedly). ‘Know thyself’ is good advice now. Defining freedom in some new way will help. This also applies to your passions – those plans you follow in your spare time or on the weekends which children or teenagers share. Riding. Some bands. Some sport. Harry Potter. So, you watch football or you make music together. But, in reality, you just want freedom through it at the moment. If it’s all too binding, though, then it’s time to cut the ties or at least define yourselves separately from each other. Or break with the past!
