Woman asks Facebook group for answers after spotting stick-like things hanging from ceiling
If you ever have a mysterious stain, mess or bizarre find in your home and can't figure out what it is or how to deal with it, it could be worth reaching out on Facebook for answers.
One woman did just that when she spotted two bizarre stick-like things descending from the ceiling of one of her rooms.
She posted a photo of the creepy find to the Facebook group Mums Who Clean and asked, "Anyone have any idea what these things are?".

And the group certainly had the answer, though it's probably the last thing you want to hear.
"Termites. Get a professional out to inspect ASAP," a woman answered.
"Some type of garden Termites (can't remember name), had them in a rental once," one said.
"Looks like termite mud tracks," another wrote.
"Termites, don't disturb, get them looked at immediately," a woman confirmed.
According to Pest-Ex, if you think you've got a termite mud trail you should never remove it or try to treat it yourself. Leaving it for pest controllers to inspect will actually help them find the termites a lot easier.

"Termites are resilient, and will repair the tubes within 10 to 15 minutes. It's vital that you don't spray them with any home DIY solutions or store-bought products. We find that often homeowners will break open a part of the mud trail to try and figure out what it is, or to see if there's live termites inside," Pest-Ex's guide to dealing with termites said.
"Unfortunately, once termites have been disturbed they'll have completely abandoned that area, which means they could be anywhere . So golden rule is, do not disturb the nest or mud trails."

Apart from mud trails, other signs of termites are dark stains on walls, termites flying out from under skirting boards, timber deterioration and a weird crackling sound coming from inside the walls.
