Five things you can easily declutter from the bathroom right now
Tidying and decluttering a room doesn't have to be a long exercise filled with indecision and frustration.
You can quickly and easily get rid of plenty of things without thinking, which will instantly make the space feel less cluttered and make it easy to do a more thorough clean out down the track.
So grab a plastic bag or box and check off this list of items you can toss right now.

Expired products
Whether it's makeup or skin care, once a product has reached the expiry date it's best to throw it out (or recycle it if that's an option).
In the case of skincare, an expired product won't be effective anymore so it's not really worth using even if there's some still left.
Makeup, meanwhile, will also be unhygienic if it's past the expiry date. Each type of makeup has a general expiry for safe hygiene, for example, mascaras should be thrown out after six months.
Things you don't use
That old body wash in your shower caddy that you didn't like the smell of, the soap you were given as a present and the skincare that didn't work can go right now.
If you've never used it or haven't used it since the first time you tried it keeping it in the room isn't going to change that.
If these things haven't been opened and aren't expired ask a family member or friend if they'd like it so it can at least be used.
Meanwhile, something like bar soap that won't be used can be popped in a dresser drawer to keep clothes smelling fresh.

Crusty, rusty or grimy accessories
We've all left a loofah or razor too long without use or replacing at some point in time, but instead of leaving it taking up space remove it once and for all.
If you have been using something for a little longer than you should either replace it or clean it (loofahs can be tossed in the washing machine, for example).
The broken, rusty and dirty accessories can go in the bin.

Sample cosmetics and toiletries
Sometimes these are forced upon us and other times we accept them thinking it'd be cool to try something for free.
But more often than not these go unused, or partially used, and end up scattered throughout bathroom cabinet drawers and shelves, taking up precious space.
If still in date consider whether they'd be more useful in a toiletry bag for a trip away or in your handbag to have a spare on the go, otherwise it's time to throw them out.

Old towels and bath mats
When towels and bath mats get so over-used and old that they are thin, pilling and not drying you well then they need to go.
It's always worth keeping a few to help with emergencies like the dishwasher flooding, but these don't need to be in the bathroom.
Most of them they can be donated or given to textile recycling initiatives and pet shelters or cut up and used as rags.
