A Kmart spot cleaner considered an affordable dupe of a more expensive appliance is finally back in stock after selling out.

The $99 product has caused a stir on social media, where shoppers have showed off the incredible transformations of their dirty couches.

It is considered a similar product to the Bissell spot cleaners, which range in price from $238 to $379.

A Kmart spokesperson confirmed to 9Honey Living that the spot cleaner has returned to shelves, but if you're keen on the product you should get in quick because stock is selling fast once again.

"The viral Kmart Spot Cleaner was restocked both online and in-store last week and continues to be a hit within our Kmart community," they said.

When the product was first released in stores in June, Sydney blogger Sue put it to the test on her couch which she described as "a bit grotty".

She filmed the cleaning process for a reel on her Instagram page @sueshomefinds.

"I have wanted one of these for ages and this is less than half the price of it's competitors," she said.

In the video, Sue showed her couch before it was cleaned with the device, and she was already predicting the spot cleaner to pick up a good amount of dirt.

"I'm expecting this to be absolutely putrid so don't judge me," she said.

Sue explained the spot cleaner requires a low foaming cleaning solution so she did her research on Google and came up with her own mix.

She used four cups of hot tap water, a tablespoon of white vinegar and a squirt of dishwashing liquid.

After pouring the solution into the spot cleaner she got to work running the nozzle attachment over the fabric of the sofa.

When she was finished she noticed just how dirty the water in the spot cleaner had become.

"Oh my God – I'm officially a filthy person," she laughed.

With her sofa good as new again, Sue summed up her thoughts in the caption of her Instagram post.

"Basically I give this a solid 10/10. It's easy to use and easy to clean up afterwards (make sure you give it all a good rinse out to get rid of the filth), good suction so my lounge is only damp so shouldn't take long to dry," she said.

Sue's video proved to be perfect timing for many shoppers who had seen the spot cleaner launch in June on Kmart's website and were keen for reviews. Several posted in various Facebook groups for feedback on the product, which is so new there are few reviews available on it yet.

The video impressed Sue's followers who are keen to see her try it on another item.

"There's nothing more satisfying than a good spot clean haha. It's wild how dirty regular things get and we have no idea until we clean them," one wrote.

"I have the same couch! That makes me want to go buy one now too after seeing it work on yours! How awesome!" commented a follower.

"I have to get one and thinking that this will be good for car seats too!" a woman said.

"Oh I'm definitely getting one of these! Cream sofa and two dogs was a [silly] combo to choose but here we are," another posted.

A couple of people admitted they would've liked to have the option of a cheaper version when they bought similar devices.

"So good. Wish they had this back when I got our expensive spot cleaner," one said.

"I wish this was out before my exxy one," wrote another.

The spot cleaner is one of many new home and living products Kmart dropped on its website and in stores during June.
