Hilarious TikTok highlights the chaotic storage habit in every kitchen
A man has revealed a hilarious detail about how almost everyone stores plastic containers in their homes.
Adam Dean pointed out this universal truth in a TikTok which he captioned, "Prove me wrong!".
With the text "The only way to put away Tupperware" over the footage, the video shows Dean putting away some bowls neatly in a cupboard on top of some dinner plates.

He then grabs a container and a couple of lids and just chucks them in a messy and disorganised cupboard filled with other plastic containers.
Those who viewed the TikTok found it relatable with many simply commenting with multiple laughing while crying emojis.
"Thought I was the only one," a woman said to which Dean replied, "You're not alone."
"Definitely," one posted.
"hahahahahaha yep that's it," a woman said.
"Exactly, that is how it's done!" a man wrote.

For me, the TikTok took me back to opening the plastic container cupboard in the home I grew up in.
Despite my mother's best efforts to encourage us to keep it organised, the contents would often tumble out and it was almost impossible to find the right lid.
In my own home I used to have a chaotic plastic container drawer that I just chucked containers in.

So while the drawer stopped them falling out I still had problems finding matching lids and small containers that fell down to the bottom of the drawer.
But for nine months now I have managed to keep the drawer neat and tidy by separating the lids and smaller containers by adding Kmart's wide and high roller storage compartment to the drawer.
While I'm impressed and relieved to have found a storage solution that works for me, I actually feel a little FOMO that I'm not in this popular club anymore. I think that might just be the nostalgia though.
