Surprising $1.95 Aldi product transforms woman's discoloured grout back to bright white

A woman who used a grout cleaner for 10 years has had success cleaning her grout after changing to a bargain Aldi buy, usually used for something else.

She shared her before and after kitchen grout transformation on the Facebook group, Cleaning and Organising Inspiration Australia.

Instead of cleaning with the grout-specific product, she tried Aldi's Di-San pre-wash stain remover spray which costs just $1.95.

After spraying the product she gave the grout a scrub before rinsing off, leaving her grout looking bright white and good as new.

"For years I've used the Long Life grout cleaner. I finally tried a different method of Aldi Di San pre wash a little scrub. Left it for 10 minutes and mopped twice with hot water and a dash of vinegar! So quick and easy," she posted.

"Kitchen grout looks so so much brighter! Will tackle the remainder of the house tomorrow!"

Members of the Facebook group loved the transformation and had lots of questions and comments.

Some wanted to know whether the Vanish Oxi Action spray would work as well, but while the members weren't sure they raved about the Aldi spray.

"Switching to the Aldi one, is literally the best! I love this stuff! So good to clean your shower with too," one said.

"I've used it before for clothes but don't always get a chance to go to Aldi so I also use Vanish (pick it up when it's half price at Coles/Woolies). I'm definitely going to make a special trip to Aldi to get some! Thanks for the tip," commented another.

"Bunnings have a long handle grout brush for $10 it's amazing just like a broom but different head," a woman recommended.

There was also some handy advice about unsealed versus sealed grout given the woman added vinegar to the hot water she used to rinse the spray.

"Is your grout sealed? If not sealed, vinegar shouldn't be used otherwise it'll further weaken the pores of the grout," one said.

The Aldi Di San pre wash stain remover also got praise as an all-round cleaning product.

"I've used the Aldi Di-San on our caravan blinds we recently bought, just spray, leave and then wipe over. Removed the grime and yellow discolouration. Was great and added freshness to the air," a woman commented.

"Love the Aldi Di-San, use it for many tough cleaning jobs, looks awesome," another wrote.
