Bathroom mirrors are one of those things where no matter how hard you try to clean them, they always seem to end up with streaks.

And it's frustrating when they get dirty from fogging not long after cleaning.

Well, the solution may have been hiding in your pantry all along, because apparently raw potatoes can be used to clean mirrors.

To demonstrate the effectiveness of the hack, Laura then threw a glass of water at the mirror and it slid right off.

The potato hack has definitely got people interested, because it's gone viral with 4.3 million views.

However, some of Laura and Jimmy's followers weren't so sure about using food to clean, especially with the increasing cost of food these days – though one suggested trying potato peels as a way to use up food waste.

To really get your mirror sparkling clean, try spraying the mirror with diluted white vinegar after you've rubbed off the potato starch. TikToker @frenchy_home_cleaning recommends this method for an eco-friendly cleaning hack.

If you're wondering what to do with your potato after cleaning your mirror, you can use it for other cleaning tasks.
