'To ensure a job well done': Cleaner quits over humiliating challenge left by employers and TikTok backs her on it
A cleaner has shared the humiliating task her bosses left her with in an effort to test how good her work was.
Devon, a professional cleaner based in Canada, found a pink note when she arrived at work, asking her to find 100 mini ducks which were hidden around the house before she left.
Taking to TikTok she explained she found the note at 7am on a Monday morning, and people were horrified by the little "challenge".

"To our cleaner, we hid 100 mini ducks around the apartment to ensure a job well done! Please leave ALL ducks in this jar," read the note.
Devon also shared some examples of where the ducks were hidden throughout the house.
They were hidden on kitchen shelves amidst condiments, on a tap, inside a chair leg, on a skirting board behind the couch, on a sponge in the kitchen and even inside a pot plant.
The cleaner admitted she played along with the little game, finding 76 of the ducks before she decided she had had enough.

The original post with the note has been viewed on TikTok close to 4 million times.
In an update on TikTok she shared the email she sent to her employers, effectively ending her contract with them.
"After finding the note and ducks today, I want to end the contract. I'm here to do my job professionally, not to play games or be tested," read the email.
"If there is a lack of trust in my work, that's totally your choice – but in that case, it's best you find someone else to clean for you."
The employers replied with an apology, insisting that it was all just a harmless "joke".
"Oh, okay. I honestly thought it would be fun and light-hearted, just a joke the hubby and I picked up," read the reply.
"Sorry to see you go. All the best!"

TikTok users were horrified by the little stunt, and plenty of people applauded Devon for just walking away from the job.
"Btw it takes a lot of time to put 100 ducks around the house tbh it takes less to clean," one person commented.
"Totally on your side! in the time they put the ducks out, they could have cleaned! ridiculously unprofessional," agreed another TikToker.
Another replied, "it's always 'just a joke" after the fact."
"If it was a "joke" there would be maybe 5 ducks left out, in places they know you clean… not a "task" for you to test your cleaning abilities," added another TikTok user.
