NFL player completes impressive 155cm vertical leap

Kristen Amiet

Just think about this next time you're working through a set of box jumps at the gym: NFL player Finis Stribing successfully performed a 155cm vertical leap over the weekend.

It may not sound like much on paper, but Stribing – a freshman defensive back for the University of Missouri Tigers – stands at 180cm, and took only a one-step lead in to the impressive jump.

Check it out in the video above.

Stribing recorded the impressive during off-season training, sharing the video with his 935 Twitter followers on July 18.

And while he's relatively new to the world of college football (this year is his first competing in games for the Tigers), Stribing set his high school's record for the 400m dash in 48.01 seconds and anchored its state title-winning 4x400m relay team before graduating in 2013.

NFL recruits have plenty of time to perfect their performance during the off season, and Baylor Bears' Shawn Oakman wasted no time in completing a 101cm leap while holding over 60kg worth of dumbbells back in May:

But that means they also have plenty of time to, um, experiment with their workouts. Check out this video of Seattle Seahawks running back and noted Skittles fan Marshawn Lynch going full beast mode... with over 220kg of his favourite snack:
