How to properly use the drawstring on your gym pants

When it comes to getting the most out of your workout gear, knowing the right way to wear something certainly comes in handy.

And as we discovered during a visit to the recently reopened Lululemon store in Bondi — which happens to be their biggest store in Australia and New Zealand — there is a very particular way you should be tying the drawstring on your tights.

While not all gym tights come with such a string, if you've never known how to do it up properly so ignored it, or fallen into the common trap of tying it into a knot and not being able to get it undone, we've got the answer for you. (Watch above.)

Team member Ginger enlightened us to the technique, warning that if you simply tie the string in a knot "you'll never get them off".

Instead, using two hands you want to create two loops by holding the top and pushing down the middle with your other fingers. That way you can then simply tie the two loops together like you would with two separate strings.

And when it comes time to undo, just pull and voila it comes loose.

"And it will stay like that," Ginger tells 9Honey. "You won't have to worry about your pants slipping or rolling down.

"Definitely don't just tie a knot or you'll die in those pants," she laughs.
