Monster spray is now A Thing

A US pharmacist has prescribed "monster spray" for a six-year-old girl who told him she was scared at night.

Jeff Dodds, who works at Barrett's Pharmacy in the small town of Watford, North Dakota, wrote and filled the unique prescription in December last year. The unnamed girl's parents posted the photo online, where it quickly went viral.

According to the label, the spray is to be used nightly before bed to repel scary monsters. It's good for one year, and contains 120 doses. And in case it runs out, Dodds even included a refill in the prescription.

Reaction to the prescription has been largely positive, with Facebook users expressing their approval.

"I wished people cared more like this the world would be a better place," wrote one.

But a few online grinches were more cynical, with some suggesting the spray would be far cheaper in Canada, and others noting that it fostered a reliance in pharmaceutical medicine in young children.
