Grandfather filming marriage proposal accidentally records his own reaction

John Hart had one job, and a very important one at that: to film a marriage proposal as it unfolded just metres away.
 
However, the relatively simple task was cruelly sabotaged by that damn ‘reverse camera’ function.
 
You see, rather than capturing the proposal itself, the New Mexico grandfather accidentally recorded his own (extremely wholesome) reaction to it.
 
Hart was travelling on the Sandia Peak aerial tramway in Albuquerque with his granddaughter Jaime and her partner Jayce, when the trio met a couple from California.

He struck up a conversation with the pair, joking to the boyfriend, named Christopher, that the picturesque location would be an ideal spot to pop the question.

In the resulting footage, Hart grins and exclaims as he watches the proposal unfold, offering some commentary along the way.
 
“Oh, that’s so cool!” he says, before speaking directly to Christopher and his fiancee.
 
“I didn’t know it was going to happen, but I sure said something,” he adds, referring to his earlier observation.

Luckily for the newly-engaged couple, Christopher’s phone managed to capture the proposal itself.
