Couples compare Instagram captions with hilarious results

Just as there are two sides to every story, there are two sides to every sweet couple photo you see on Instagram.

Never has this been more brutally obvious than on Twitter this week.

Isabella Koval left disgruntled girlfriends nodding in solidarity on Sunday when she compared her latest Instagram post with her boyfriend Justin’s.

Naturally, the tweet blew up, and Isabella quickly learned she wasn’t alone in this particular relationship trench. 

Fellow girlfriends chimed in with their own side-by-side caption comparisons, all equally hilarious - and even a little crass in some cases.

One photo of a couple standing in front of a wall of foliage was captioned “I like green and dis boi” by the girlfriend, and “Some green shit” by the boyfriend.

Another, featuring a couple posing together at a fancy event, copped “meat sticks or nah?” as a caption - a slightly different take to the girlfriend, who wrote, “thanks for being the best date I could’ve asked for”.

Not even a photo taken during what seemed to be a romantic dinner could escape the boyfriend/girlfriend treatment. 

Her take: “My favourite person #mylove”.
