You've been storing peanut butter all wrong

If you’re anything like me, you’d know that peanut butter is more than a condiment to spread on toast.

Quite honestly, it presents a world of opportunities.

From slathering it on bananas to eating it straight out of the jar at 1am – the oily spread is a pantry staple that is a consistent comfort and source of support.

However, just when I started considering myself a peanut butter aficionado, I was instantly proven wrong.

A peanut butter hack crossed my radar and changed everything I thought to be true, and it’s all about how to store the delicious condiment.

PureWow pointed out that the best way to store peanut butter is upside down.

Before you question the logic involved in this method. Hold tight, there's an explanation.

All the oil in the container gathers at the top, which typically creates a liquid pool that you're forced to contend with every time you pop open a jar of peanut butter.

If you flip it, the natural oil will evenly distribute throughout the jar and stop an unpleasant build up at the surface.

It’s also recommended to keep it in the fridge, as it will stay creamier for longer.

Here at 9Honey Kitchen we prefer to keep our peanut butter at room temperature. But this has been duly noted.

Excuse us while we work this into our routine.
