World's largest dessert pizza stuns at Gold Coast expo

Chocolate pizza for days...

The Guinness World Records longest dessert pizza title has been challenged over the weekend by local pizza franchise Crust Pizza.

The sprawling chocolate-laced pizza impressed delegates of the 2016 Retail Food Group expo at the Gold Coast Convention Centre over the weekend, who were treated to slices of the record-breaking dessert.

Although still waiting on official confirmation from Guinness World Records before they can lay claim to the title once and for all, the solid attempt didn't leave much room for debate, smashing the current title holder Italy-based Record Pizza Men team by a not-so-shabby 13 metres.

The pizza was stretched along a table for 46.6 metres—almost the length of an Olympic pool—and featured chocolate, fruit and cinnamon crumble.

Ms North said the flavours were chosen based on two of their popular in-house Crust Pizza desserts: the Black Forest Crumble and the Hot Sticky Cinnamon Buns.

The delicious pizza leftovers have been donated to OzHarvest to feed the homeless.
