No taco shell, no problem! Woman's mess-free taco hack

For the times when you're all out of taco shells, but desperate for the crunch, a woman has shared a hack "game-changer", and TikTokers are stunned.

User @cookwithranda posted her video, which now has over 2.2 million views, showing how she uses her microwave to get the most out of a soft tortilla.

This hack not only provides a bit of crunch, but is also incredibly handy for filling your taco (or any wrap really) and ensuring you don't lose any of the good bits.

In the video, Randa starts by placing half of her tortilla in a glass, to ensure it curls upwards a bit like a taco shell.

She then stuffs it with some pre-prepared taco meat and cheese and instructs to "microwave for three minutes".

When she pulls the shell from the microwave and takes it out of the glass, the edges have curled over, and the insides are melted perfectly.

She then uses tongs to separate the edges, and add more fillings — in Randa's taco she added corn, red beans, red onion, jalapenos, lettuce, tomatoes and a squeeze of lemon.

For added crunch, she also sprinkles a few broken tortilla chips on top as well.

In the comments, TikTokers are marvelling over the idea.

"This is a game-changer," one user wrote.

"Trying this now," another shared.

A third wrote: "This looks delicious!"

One user did have an important safety warning about Randa's video: "Make sure what you're using is microwave safe to avoid death," they wrote.

Another added: "Never microwave glass."

While glass can be microwave safe, some types might not do well in powerful microwaves — especially if the cups or plates have gold or silver rims.

Instead, those trying out this hack can use a plastic cup. Problem solved!
