Bakers, hot chocolate-enthusiasts and fondue-lovers may not be strangers to the wonders of cacao's sweetened elixir, nor the various methods available to make it malleable enough to mould — but one woman swears that she's found the ultimate way to melt chocolate.

Forget breaking it up into pieces and melting it in the microwave or putting it in a bowl over a saucepan of boiling water, if you're not doing it this quick, mess-free and easy way, you're doing it wrong.

TikTok user Rumaisah, who goes by the name @hennabyrumaisah on the video-sharing platform, demonstrates the simple, yet effective, chocolate melting hack. Watch above.

Although Rumaisah, who is from Bradford in the United Kingdom, usually shows off her intricate henna designs on the social media app, this trick has gone viral, having been viewed on her account over 2.2 million times with 50,000 likes.

Chocolate-lovers need only get a saucepan and fill it with water — it can either be boiling water from the kettle or can be boiled in the saucepan — before adding a chocolate bar, still in the wrapper, to the boiling water.

After a few minutes in the boiling water, the chocolate will be perfectly melted, and won't require much clean-up.

It is important, however, to be careful when opening the chocolate wrapper due to the heat.

"This is quite possibly the best hack I've ever seen," Rumaisah said in the video.

"If you love chocolate then this is 100 per cent for you.

"Gone are the days of burnt melted chocolate.

"Wow."

"I will try it because I always burn chocolate in the microwave," another commented.

A third user seconded Rumaisah's assertion that the hack is 100 per cent for chocolate-lovers, writing, "100 per cent best hack for chocolate-lovers."

One recipe keen chefs can use to try this method on for size is 9Honey's classic chocolate-coated honeycomb.

Bon appétit.
