According to Belinda Russell, that viral TikTok avocado seed removal hack works

As with anything, there's good and bad when it comes to TikTok's many DIY hacks.

According to Nine's Belinda Russell, this handy avocado-based hack actually works — and she's got video proof.

Taking to Instagram earlier today, the Today Extra co-host showed her followers what is arguably the quickest and smoothest way to remove an avocado seed. Watch above!

"Holy guacamole!! Saw this hack a few months ago and I finally got to "avo-go" to see if it works. 🥑🤯" she captioned the video.

"I saw this on TikTok about a month ago, and I haven't tried it out yet, so let's give this a go," the 43-year-old says in the beginning of the video as she picks up half of an avocado, the piece of which had the seed in it.

Belinda explains that instead of using a knife to remove an avocado seed, which can risk "losing a finger or thumb or multiple," you have to put your index finger and middle finger in a V-like shape under the seed while cupping the back of the avocado with your thumb, and apply a bit of pressure — or "pop" it out, as Belinda says.

As seen in the video, the seed pops right out, catching Belinda by surprise as it lands in the bowl beneath her with an echo.

The television host then replays the action in slow motion for her followers, before making a 'mind blown' gesture with her hands.

Belinda's followers were as impressed if not more than she was, with A Current Affair's Tracy Grimshaw commenting, "Whaaaa?? 👏"

One follower said, "Seedless to say, it works !!" as another joked, "Oh my, where have you been all my life. I'd have 10 fingers otherwise".

It seems as though Belinda's mission was a success.
