The internet draws the line at this disgusting pimple popping cake
Malaysia-based The Cakescape's prank dessert goes viral.
There's a disturbing new food trend taking the internet by storm of late — pimple popping cakes.
It first came onto our radar last week when Oklahoma-based baker Aspen Jackson shared footage of her seriously stomach-churning zit cupcakes, which spew out pale cream cheese 'puss' when squeezed, to the horror/delight of thousands of Facebook users.
Riding the shock-factor wave, Malaysian-based bakery The Cakescape this week showed the world that, yes, it absolutely can get more disgusting by creating their own version of the pimple popping cake and sharing a particularly nauseating video of it to social media.
The reactions have been mixed, ranging from pure revoltion to amusement.
However even the truly repulsed appear keen to spread the zit cake love or, more likely, put a friend off their lunch.
"Sssssoooo I found your bday cake," one Instagram user writes, tagging a friend.
"After having this you will forget to eat cakes," another user warns, also tagging a mate.
The dessert was originally created as a prank, according to the venue's Instagram account, and in just under a week the gag-worthy video has racked up more than 11,000 views. Check it out in the clip above — go on, you know you want to.
Here's hoping this irksome trend bursts soon.
