Aussie home cook shares Kmart pie hack
There are few things more exciting than discovering a really, really good kitchen hack. They can save you money, man hours and a whole lot of stress. Plus you can brag about your ingenious discovery to friends and family who will be hanging on your every word to hear just how you do it.
And this fabulous kitchen hack is no different, because a few clever Aussie home cooks have revealed how they're now using Kmart's $29 pie maker to make cob loaf pies - with a twist.

While traditionally a cob loaf pie is made from a cob loaf bread roll that's been hollowed out and filled with a tomato, cheese layer and refilled with a mince/gravy filling, this variation calls for spinach and pie pastry to create an easy, delicious meal in no time flat.
“250g frozen spinach parcels (thawed and liquid squeezed out), 2x packets French onion soup mix, 1 tub 300mL sour cream and shredded cheese. Mix all of it together!” a woman posted in the Kmart Pie Maker Recipes, Tips and Ideas Australia Facebook group.
After making the mixture, the woman said she spooned onto pre-cut puff pastry rounds and sealed with a pastry lid. Then she baked the pies until golden brown.
While cooking times can vary, it is suggested between four to six minutes.
Consider your kitchen well and truly hacked after you make these brilliant little pies. You can thank us later.
