Ritz cracker hack solves years-long 'edges' mystery

Ritz crackers made their TikTok debut with a whimper — but it's latest post has grown its account with a giant bang.

In a video that has now gone viral on the social media platform, the cracker company shocked consumers by revealing what, exactly, the mysterious Ritz ridges are for.

It is literally to cut cheese.

The jagged edges are not there purely for aesthetic purposes, rather, it can aid with preparing the popular dairy pairing for its destiny to be nibbled.

According to the video, which shows someone rolling a Ritz cracker's edges over a slice of cheese, cutting it in half, the disc's design was made with snacking in mind on more levels than one.

TikTok viewers' minds were blown at the solving of what was once a sophisticated, and now simple, mystery.

Captioned "the more you know", Ritz had simply declared knives as unnecessary.

"My life is a lie," one TikTok user commented, while another thought Ritz were lying.

"That's not what they're for," another TikTok user said. "You just made this up."

In a cheeky clap-back, the company replied, "But we're Ritz, we're allowed to."

Other TikTok users were not impressed, with one saying, "Or [you could] just grab the cheese with two hands and tear a slice."

Ritz, unbothered, replied, "That works too."

Since being posted earlier in the week, the video has had 1.6 million views, and has accrued over 278,900 likes.
