Pub worker cooks a raw steak in parked car

A Victorian pub owner proved just how hot Australia can get in the best way possible.

The man left a raw steak in the front seat of his car and after leaving the tender piece of meat for five hours – it had cooked all the way through.

The member of staff at Mildura Dockside Café in Victoria posted the picture of the cooked steak, in case people were dubious about the likeliness of cooking meat from inside a parked car.

“Yesterday at 11am I put a porterhouse steak in my car which was parked in the shade and left it until 4pm” the post read.

“It was very well done upon my return”

The before and after picture displays the raw slice of meat in the centre of the car, and then a cooked steak in the same pan. 

"Looks tough.. should have gone back at 2 hours" wrote one commentator. 

The man wanted to point out the danger of leaving people in the car, even if it’s in the shade.

“Always check on elderly neighbours, ensure your pets have a way to keep cool and cool drinking water”.

“Also always down at Dockside we have plenty of activities to cool you down, yummy cold drinks, great aircon and we are pet friendly out on the deck”.

Many areas of Northern Victoria have recorded some incredibly hot days and lately, with record temperatures and fire dangers.
