Pringles' vow to Australian chip-lovers as can size undergoes massive change
Pringles fans, brace yourselves – a huge change is happening soon for the snack aisle staple.
Within the coming weeks, Pringles as you know them will be looking a little different on supermarket shelves, with the chip giant revealing it's cutting the height of its 53-gram can varieties by 10 per cent from May.
Although the packaging will be smaller, the brand emphasises that the amount of Pringles in the can will be the same – it just means there'll be less empty space in the cans.

It's a move Pringles bills as one that will minimise its environmental impact, with the brand claiming the 10 per cent height reduction will reduce its annual Australian and New Zealand packaging waste by 37,000 kilograms.
"Pringles have a distinctive and iconic can, and we're committed to maintaining quality while continuing to find ways to minimise our environmental footprint," Kellanova's Head of Salty Snacks Dan Bitti says.
"We're excited to introduce revamped cans delivering the same snack with less packaging," Bitti concludes.
It's not the first time that Pringles has changed its packaging with sustainability in mind – it was in 2022, after all, when the brand removed its plastic lid from the 53-gram can.
The 134-gram range, however, will remain the same for now, with Pringles confirming it is working towards developing and implementing more sustainable packaging across the whole range in future.

As for now, the reduced 53-gram can variety will be on all major supermarket shelves from May 2024.
