Milk lovers, rejoice! Your flavoured dreams are about to come true

Milk has been said to be a "bad choice" (thank you, Ron Burgundy from Anchorman), but for lovers of the dairy product, things are about to improve.

OAK is launching a "Flavour Generator" for flavoured milk connoisseurs to mix their perfect combinations.

The online generator will offer 20 flavours for fans to pick and choose from, with the three best pairings to be sold in supermarkets and stores nationwide.

To sweeten the deal, each of the inventors' faces will also be printed on their cartons, and they'll score a $10,000 payment while their flavour is sold across Australia.

The options available in the OAK generator include traditional sweet-tooth flavours, such as toffee, marshmallow, maple syrup, caramel and cheesecake.

For those with a daring tongue, bacon, lime and the highly contentious licorice will also be on offer.

A colour swatch panel will also be available, allowing inventors to choose the design of their dream 600ml carton.

Participants may mix up to three flavours and must sign off with a catchy name once they enter their combination.

To personalise the carton further, a simple backstory behind the recipe must be provided with each custom OAK mix.

Facebook users rejoiced at the announcement, sharing their dream mixes in the comments of the company's post.

"This could be my big break," wrote one user.

Will anything ever triumph over the classic chocolate variety?

"It's my time to shine," shared another.

According to a study from Scotland's St Andrews University, milk was found to be even more hydrating than plain water because it contains the sugar lactose, some protein and some fat, all of which help to slow the emptying of fluid from the stomach and keep hydration happening over a longer period of time.

The competition will run until February 7, with three finalists announced the following week.

Voting will commence in late April.
