Meat eaters outraged by vegan brisket on Twitter

There’s no greater way to anger a group of devout meat lovers, then by showing off a vegan brisket recipe on social media.

Television writer Kevin Biegel created the vegan ‘brisket’ and paraded the outcome on Twitter, and meat eaters collectively shunned him.

‘Vegan brisket experiment was a success! 18 hour smoke over oak. Is it beef? Nope. But the taste/texture are great’ Biegel posted.

Mix of jackfruit, seitan, miso, beer, Franklin BBQ sauce made with extra sugar so it caramelized to a crust- and it did! Plus I don’t feel gross after eating it’ he continued.

Barbecue enthusiasts blasted the writer for trying to replicate meat with vegetarian substitutes. For an inside look at the chemicals involved in meat production, see above for the full investigation.

The very fact that Biegel insisted that he made the recipe to combat heart problems wasn’t enough to diffuse their frustration.

Biegel clapped back at the haters, and asserted that it's important to embrace 'alternative forms of BBQ that are more in tune with, you know, staying alive'

But that wasn't enough to silence the wave of disapproval, as individuals refused to accept his lifestyle choice. His post amassed over 4,000 reactions.

‘I encourage anyone who thinks vegans are obnoxious to read the replies to this’ one person tweeted.
