McDonald's brings back fan-favourite McRib for first time in years

McDonald's has officially released its annual summer menu, and this time it includes some of the biggest icons from the fast food giant's repertoire.

It's exciting news for fans of the McRib and Chicken Big Mac, as both are officially making their grand return to the menu – but for a limited time only.

The McRib – a boneless pork paddy coated in BBQ McRib sauce with pickles, onions and a toasted homemade bun – has been the most requested Macca's product ever and is back for the first time since 2020.

Alongside it, McDonald's welcomes a new McRib Deluxe, featuring a fresh take on the classic version, with the addition of cheese, lettuce, tomato and McChicken sauce.

The Chicken Big Mac is also back by popular demand, alongside Onion Rings with BBQ sauce.

The Tim Tam McFlurry also makes the cut, now with a new chocolate twist of Chocolate Soft Serve and a new Frozen Coke Y3000.

Aussies are now being given a "taste of the future" with a new Coca-Cola flavour from the year 3000, co-created with AI, with the limited edition drink now available.

"Our fans have asked, and we have delivered – one of our most talked-about burgers is back, with the McRib here to kickstart summer with Macca's this year," Samantha McLeod, Marketing Director of McDonald's Australia said.

"With one of our most epic summer menu line-ups of all time, we look forward to bringing people and flavours together this summer by serving up our great tasting, great quality menu and providing more feel-good moments for our customers across the warmer months.

"No matter your plans, we're here to make your summer memorable, because Macca's and the Aussie summer are an unbeatable combination."

"The lineup of sizzling summer menu items will be available across Macca's restaurants nationwide, via the MyMacca's app and McDelivery from 29 November, for a limited time only."

The Chicken Big Mac, which hit Macca's stores seven years ago, comes with two RSPCA-approved patties, Big Mac Sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and a sesame seed bun.

The new Tim Tam Chocolate McFlurry is a Chocolate Soft Serve with Tim Tam biscuits and milk chocolate Tim Tam sauce.
