Maccas is giving away free cheeseburgers with just the press of a button this week.

On Thursday September 18, McDonald's is celebrating International Cheeseburger Day by giving away their iconic cheeseburgers – but there is a catch.

The snack comes with a purchase in the MyMaccas app, with customers having to spend over one dollar to qualify.

The cheeseburgers will be available from 12:01am to 11:59pm exclusively on the app, excluding McDelivery.

Unfortunately for hungry customers, the treat is limited to only one per person.

The affordable meal option comes as the restaurant giant shared another interesting offering with their annual Monopoly at Macca's promotion.

The fast food giant's game kicked off on Wednesday September 3 with $718 million in prizes up for grabs.

The prizes range from free food to cars and gift cards, but one prize is particularly reflective of the troubles Aussies are going through every day – with this year's prizes including the chance to win free mortgage or rent for a year.

One winner will be able to get their hands on $52,000 to go towards their rent or mortgage.

It's just one of 49 million prizes up for grabs, so the chances of winning the whopping prize are slim but no doubt tempting for many.

It's a poignant prize with the ongoing cost-of-living and housing crisis leaving Aussies around the country with exhausting bills – including eye-watering mortgage repayments and rising rental prices.

If you'd also like to score some free dessert on Thursday, you may want to check out Krispy Kreme.

Aussies across the country will be able to get their hands on a free doughnut this week if they say just three words at a well-known dessert shop.

"Hip hip, hooray."

That's right, that's all you need to say to get your hands on the sugary freebie.

Krispy Kreme Australia is turning 22 and has decided to celebrate with the nation slinging free doughnuts for all.
