McDonald's fan's epic 'Chicken Mac' hack goes viral

One Reddit user's bespoke Macca's creation has struck a chord with online critics after being praised as "genius".

User "Craig" took to the forum last week to share his step-by-step hack to creating a chicken twist on the iconic Big Mac — i.e. the "Chicken Mac".

Starting with two Mayo Chicken burgers with cheese, the savvy fast food fan shows with photos and captions how to assemble the hybrid menu item.

The four-pronged hack starts with buying "2 mayo chickens with cheese", then prompts to "construct into Big Mac format" and "Add Big Mac sauce". The forth and final step is to "Thank me later".

The seasoned burger pro even dons rubber gloves in the pictorial — clearly this isn't his first Chicken Mac rodeo.

"It's glorious!!!" one user wrote of the menu item.

Another user admitted to being impressed by the creator's sanitary gloves for the inevitable "clean-up". "Seeing such genius obviously leaves puddles in the passenger seat."

The stroke of fast food genius has even inspired others to attempt their own Chicken Macs, with one user sharing their version to Instagram just days after Craig's began trending.

Another user suggested an even easier way to get your hands on the McDonald's mash-up, no gloves required.

"I just asked them to swap the beef for chicken and they did."
