The program is currently being trialled in South Australia and Broken Hill, and is expected to be rolled out nationwide next year.
So far, McDonald's has revealed MyMaccas' Rewards will operate like any other loyalty program — with each purchase letting customers gain points, which can then be 'spent' on menu items like a large chips or coffee.

Speaking of coffee, the program will also run across McCafes, so buyers can spend their points on various hot drinks and McCafe food items as well as burgers, chips and other restaurant food items.
As well as offering great rewards for loyal customers, the loyalty scheme can give the chain an indication of popular menu items, who is buying what, and even ideas for new products.

This could not only lead to items being discontinued, or changes like the recent end to the chain's much-loved 24-hour breakfast menu, but even some price hikes.
So far, McDonald's Australia has not seen major hikes in prices.
