Krispy Kreme celebrate 20 years in Australia with free doughnuts

Three little words are the key to unlocking free doughnuts from the makers of the Original Glazed Donuts, Krispy Kreme.

To celebrate 20 years since they opened their first Aussie store in Penrith in 2003, Krispy Kreme will be slinging one of their famous glazed doughnuts to anyone that has the courage to shout the iconic Aussie birthday chant "Hip Hip Hooray" in store during their birthday weekend, from September 7 to 10.

In an ode to the legends that start the chants in the first place, Krispy Kreme will also be offering a free four pack of original glazed doughnuts to those who not only shout "hip hip", but also get a response of "hooray!" from others in the store (Krispy Kreme staff excluded).

For those who can't make it down in person, don't despair, as the doughnut company is offering a deal to continue the celebrations online. On September 8, customers can visit the website and use the promo code "HIPHIPHOORAY" to receive a dozen OG doughnuts for only $15 (excluding South Australia).

Australia was the first country to start selling Krispy Kreme outside of it's native North America, says Olivia Sutherland, Marketing Director at Krispy Kreme ANZ.

"Our story in Australia began in Penrith in the early 2000s, marking us as the first country outside of North America to introduce the iconic Original Glazed Doughnuts. This stands as a testament to the enduring love Aussies have for our doughnuts.
