Sometimes all you might want is a greasy bit of bacon in the morning, but other times excess grease in a dish can be a real recipe downer.

That's where this clever kitchen trick, shared by US grandma Babs on her popular TikTok account Brunch with Babs, will really come in handy.

"You will never have to worry about greasy sauce or gravy again," the internet-famous grandma known for sharing 'motherly advice' captioned the video in which she shared her latest 'grandma tip'.

In it, she shows how she uses a spoon ladle filled with ice and lets it sit just in the sauce for a few moments.

"The cold from the ice is going to attract all that grease," she explains, before lifting the ladle out to show the bottom of it now "coated with grease".

She then uses a paper towel to clean it off and says to repeat the process a few times.

Her video was flooded with over 600 comments, with one person writing: "This is amazing."

"Good idea, grease hurts my stomach," was another appreciative response.

"Dang, that is a really good tip," one fan agreed.

One called it a "game changer", while another thought it was "genius".
