IKEA is trialling a food delivery service

We all love IKEA. From cheap furniture to... well, not so cheap furniture, the Swedish domestic icon serves up everything you could possibly need, including some well-deserved nosh after a long day of stacking flat packs and arguing with your significant other.

IKEA's Swedish meatballs are a legend of their own at the furniture purveyor, where many Aussies admit to making a trip to IKEA just sample them.

Well now you might be able to enjoy all of the food court's favourite offerings from the comfort of your own self-constructed couch!

This is according to Spanish news outlet El Confidencial, who reported recently that the Swedish furniture giant was testing out a food delivery service in one of their smaller urban concept stores in Paris.

The smaller stores allow customers to wander in, buy a few items, and then head home again - or plan what their spaces might look like without actually having to purchase anything too bulky at that exact moment in time.

We're not entirely sure whether or not the exciting trial is going to work out to be profitable for the store, or whether or not we can hope to see a similar trial here Down Under, but what we do know is that it would definitely be a game changer.
