So, if you're known to butcher a piece of grilled salmon, we've got a super simple tip to make sure you never have to toss your fish in the bin again.

According to UK TV chef Mary Berry, cooking the perfect piece of salmon is as simple as being mindful about your pan placement.

As per The Mirror, Berry's new book Mary Berry Foolproof Cooking shares her simple hack to prevent salmon from drying out.

Berry says that all you need to do is make sure that the salmon fillets are placed close to each other so they can keep each other moist.

"You will know when they are cooked, as the flesh will become a matte pink colour all the way through," she said.

So it really is as simple as just making sure your salmon pieces are placed next to each other!

In her book, Berry also shared her favourite way to season a salmon fillet to not only stop them from drying out but to add some delicious complementary flavours.

"Start by removing the skin of the fish and then season it with plenty of salt and pepper," she said.

If you're more into smoky flavours, you can also season with paprika, garlic, lime and brown sugar.

When it comes to cooking time, Berry said that you should put your salmon in the oven at 180° fan forced for 15-18 minutes.

And if you overcook it, a little bit of lemon juice can do wonders.
