This genius use for ready-made cookie dough has your winter comfort cravings sorted
Two ingredients, one crock pot = one seriously winter-worthy treat.
Those glorious ready-to-bake raw cookie logs stacked up in your supermarket fridge section have long been the lazy man's answer to satisfying cosy cravings when they strike – it's certainly saved us a chilly run to the shops on more than one occasion.
But perhaps, like us, it never occurred to you to use the dough for anything other than, well, the baked cookies outlined in the packet instructions — or, in its laziest guise, gobbled up raw and doughy (don't even pretend you haven't done this before).
Thankfully, blogger and Instagram sensation Samantha Schnur of @thenaughtyfork was thinking outside the cookie mould when she came up with this recipe for slow-cooker choc chip cookies, and we're already dubbing it our new ultimate winter dessert.
The Miami-based food lover, whose cookie dessert post has already cracked a million views, kindly shared the mouth-watering clip with 9Kitchen – watch the video above for a hit of slow-cooker brilliance.
More pudding than cookie, the oozy invention can be prepared in mere minutes – simply layer a couple packets of dough with a liberal smattering of extra chocolate chips in a crock pot, bung it all in an oven on a high heat, and let time do the rest (two and a half hours to be precise). Schnur has even provided a recipe on her website for those who prefer making their biccies from scratch.
The result is a decadent, doughy pudding, peppered with little globules of molten chocolate that I'm sure we can all agree is pure wintry bliss.
