Though the holidays are full of joy, one not-so-joyful thing is food prep. And virtually everyone agrees, one of the most time-consuming and messy chores is de-yolking hard boiled eggs– something you definitely need to be able to do if you're planning on serving devilled eggs.

One TikTok user, however, has found the perfect solution to this dilemma, demonstrating how to take a yolk out of a hard-boiled egg with no mess.

United States woman Andrea VanDerwerker has demonstrated her tip to extracting the hard-boiled egg yolk perfectly, using her knife to cut gently around the perimeter of the egg, like you would an avocado.

Using the knife, she pulls the egg along the cutting board and the egg yolk pops right out, with no residue left on the inside of the whites.

"Hey, if you guys all knew about cutting hard boiled eggs like this, and you didn't tell me, we're gonna have some serious beef," she joked as she shared the tip.

"Look at that, no yolk all over the knife. It's so clean, are you kidding me?!

"I'm just now figuring this out after almost 30 years on this spinning rock?" she added in the caption.
