Special nugget sauce just dropped at Coles

There's nothing like getting a delicious McNugget meal at the Drive Thru of your favourite Maccas, on a road trip, after a big night, or just as a sneaky dinner option. But there's always one glaringly big issue with the meal - and I know it's not just me who feels it.

There is never enough sauce! Those little packets with the peel-back aluminium lid? Pitiful. As delicious as those nuggets are - be they from a McDonald's, the grocery store, or even a batch of healthy homemade nuggs (see the video above for how to make those ones), it just isn't complete without a generous dollop of sauce.

But fear not, because Coles has just swooped in and saved the day with a new range of sauces that are specifically designed for the chicken nugget lovers among us.

There are two flavours; Sweet and Savoury, and we at 9Honey Kitchen tried them both.

The Special Sweet Nugget sauce is based on the flavours of sweet Carolina BBQ sauce, with a kind of tangy, mustardy goodness forming the foundation of the sauce, while the Special Spicy Nugget Sauce had a distinctly more European flavour to it.

This is unsurprising given that it was based on curry ketchup, or Currygewürzketchup as it’s known in Germany; a sauce that European nugget lovers use as a dipping sauce for their savoury snacks.

No matter what flavour you prefer, we adored these tasty new additions to the Coles sauce range, and I for one know that I'm going to be keeping a bottle in my cupholder for the next time I make a trip to the Drive Thru.

Never again will I face a disappointing sauce-to-nugg ratio.
