Chrissy Teigen is the new face of McDonald's dollar menu…

Celebrity endorsement is big business. From Athletes spruiking their favourite shoes, to Kanye pushing his own brands, the business of selling stuff often calls in the credibility and popularity of the big gun celebrities to help shift product. So it should come as no surprise that our favourite Tweeter and Instagram foodie Chrissy Teigen has hopped on the bandwagon in a big way, with her endorsement of the new McDonald's dollar menu. Her attachment to the fast food chain's new menu was revealed in the US during the screening of the Golden Globe awards yesterday, with Teigen and Maccas tweeting about it and clearly marking it as an #ad and endorsement.

The cheeky ad makes it looks like Teigen ran out on the award ceremony to grab some burgers (or an 'they-never-feed-you-at-those-things-meal) for her celebrity mates... but don't worry, according to her twitter feed she was actually at home making tacos anyway. 

You can see the full advertisement that aired above, but before you go getting all shirty about the cookbook author, celebrity model, wife of John Legend and Lip Sync Battle host endorsing a fast food chain super-giant, let's not forget all the other brands that have recruited from our fave celebrities to get you purchasing their goods.

The McDonald's ad is actually pretty cute and certainly hit the right social note with Teigen appearing in a black dress in solidarity with the #metoo black dress theme of the awards.

And plenty of big brands have made some fun ads that live on in terms of being great entertainment involving celebrities we love. It's that Mad Men magic of being able to sell an idea with a clever story.

Pepsi has been onto a winner for a long time with celebrity names. Who could forget their gladiator themed We Will Rock You featuring not one but four big names; Enrique Iglesias, Beyonce, Britney Spears and Pink.

Or that time that Heidi Klum wrapped her laughing gear around a Carl's Junior Jim Beam burger and the internet went nuts.
