Cadbury Creme Egg gets a cookie dessert twist in time for Easter
Every home cook worth their salt knows that desserts which look truly impressive but are actually absurdly simple to make are a rare thing—the unicorns of the food world, if you will.
This Easter-inspired treat gets a big, fat unicorn tick from us.
YouTube channel Observ Food just came out with a biscuit tribute to everyone's favourite oozy, choc-coated icon, the Cadbury Creme Egg—and it does not disappoint, essentially swapping out the chocolate shell for a chewy, choc-chip cookie cup.
Using ready-made cookie dough, a simple buttercream mixture and a dash of food gel, a dessert unicorn is born.
All you need to recreate this dessert gem…
450g readymade chocolate chip cookie dough
150g butter
½ cup of golden syrup in place of corn syrup
¼ teaspoon vanilla essence
yellow food gel
Check out the video above to see how simple it is to create this drool-worthy dessert.
