The number one Arnott's biscuit in Australia for 2023 revealed

The biscuits have been counted and the results are in for the number one Arnott's biccie in the jar.

From a creamy Monte Carlo to a classic Scotch Finger, Aussies have long been divided over the best Arnott's biscuit in the range.

But now, the iconic brand has put the debate to rest and revealed the official ranking of the top 10 biscuits purchased by Aussies in 2023.

Arnott's was a favourite amongst 94 per cent of Aussies this year, with over 10 million households purchasing their sweet and savoury biscuits.

But of the 359 million biscuits sold, there was one clear standout.

Taking the crown was none other than the Tim Tam Original.

With a delicious mix of biscuit, cream and milk chocolate, the Aussie classic is officially the most purchased delectable in the Arnott's range.

The Tim Tam Original flavour was bought by a staggering over 2.8 million Aussie households, with Tim Tams being the top pick across 52 per cent of the country.

The biscuit wasn't just popular amongst the everyday Aussie though.

From Margot Robbie to The Matildas team and Tom Cruise, quite a few famous faces have been spotted with a Tim Tam Original in hand this year.

Arnott's has revealed 57 per cent of their Aussie customers reached for a sweet biscuit from their selection this year.

However, the savoury picks also made their mark on the ranking.

In second place and not far behind the Tim Tam Original was a popular savoury pick.

Over 2.4 million Aussies purchased Barbecue Shapes this year, making it the indisputable favourite flavour in the Shapes range.

Shapes of all flavours were bought by a whopping 52 per cent of the 10 million Aussie households this year.

The Chicken Crimpy Shapes flavour also proved popular, taking third place in the Arnott's ranking.

Jatz

Jatz biscuits made the top 10 ranking.  Supplied

Pizza Shapes weren't far behind, ranking fifth after the Jatz Original biscuits.

The rest of the top 10 ranking was a mix of sweet and savoury with Salada placing sixth, followed by the sugary Mint Slice and Tim Tam Double Coat biscuit.

The Monte Carlo biscuit, which features a delicious vanilla cream filling and chewy jam, was the ninth most purchased Arnott's biscuit in 2023 after being first introduced in 1926.

And finally, rounding off the official top 10 was the Scotch Finger.
