CHOICE crowns Aldi winner of the best fruit mince pies
Love them or hate them, fruit mince tarts are a staple in any Christmas feast. But with a saturation of options, which ones are best?
Well according to CHOICE, Australia's best fruit mince pies are just 45c each.
The consumer group put Aldi, Woolworths and Coles to the test by blind taste testing their fruit mince pies amongst staff.

The winner? Aldi's Kringle and Co Fruit Mince Pies which retail for $2.69 for a pack of 6 – making each delicious pie just 45c!
The Aldi fruit mince pies clinched first place with 44 per cent of the popular vote. Woolworths trailed close behind with 40 per cent of the vote. However, Coles' fruit mince pies only garnered a dismal 16 per cent.
Whilst Aldi wins for taste, CHOICE says they also win for value. Both Woolworths and Coles' fruit mince pies retail for 75c each, almost double the price of Aldi's.

This is also not Aldi's first win for their fruit mince pies. The consumer group also crowned their pies winners back in 2020 when doing a similar taste test.
9Honey Kitchen conducted our own experiment earlier in the week to find the best fruit mince pies Australian retailers have to offer.
Aldi pies ranked third overall in our votes whilst the delicious Bakers Delight mince pies reigned supreme.
The Coles mince pie also suffered in our own rankings coming in second last place behind IGA.

Not a fan of fruit mince pies? CHOICE also rated the other festive dessert offerings the nation's top supermarkets have to offer.
Woolworths Gold White Chocolate & Macadamia Tarts were a hit amongst CHOICE staff with one even noting that these Christmas treats taste like a subway cookie.
However, Coles once again failed to impress, this time with their Salted Caramel Mini Tarts. CHOICE staff found the taste too rich and overpowering for their liking.
