Aldi launches luxury pop-up wine bar in Sydney and the total bill for guests will not exceed $5
If you're on a budget but you're looking for a bougie night out in Sydney, Aldi has your back.
No, we're not talking about a night in with the contents of your trolley from your latest shop at the budget supermarket giant. When we say a night out, we really do mean a night out. And the best bit? The total cost of your night out will be no greater than $4.41. We're not joking.
Aldi has announced that for one weekend only – from Friday July 15 to Saturday July 16 – Sydneysiders will be able to nab a seat at their luxury pop-up wine bar, the Aldi Trophy Room.

This limited-time-only offering follows Aldi's 2022 Price Report, which found that, due to the rising cost of living, 44 per cent of Australians have reduced their outings to bars and restaurants this year.
Basically, they asked, you answered, and now Aldi have, in return, provided a small group of guests with the chance to enjoy a taste of luxury without breaking the bank.
Yes, only a small group – the bar is open for two nights only, so if you want to secure a seating and purchase tickets to the bar, you'll have to get in quick. Don't worry too much, however, as there is a waitlist available in case of any cancellations for those who miss out on a ticket.

For $4.41 per person, guests will be able to feast on a double gold medal-winning gin on arrival, a tasting experience specially curated by experts of Aldi's award-winning red and white wines from regions such as South Australia's McLaren Vale and the Margaret River in Western Australia and a glass of wine of their choosing from the tasting offerings, as well as a deluxe cheese platter.
The price reflects exactly what you would pay in-store for the items should you have chosen to indulge in them at home, only at the Trophy Room, you get them paired with a fancy bar experience.
Individually, for example, a glass of Aldi's award-winning Pinot Grigio would be 83 cents, and a glass of the most expensive wine on the menu – a Pinot Noir from Otago in New Zealand – would be $2.49.
The cheese platter includes some of Aldi's best-loved offerings, including a triple cream brie that would be just 56 cents for a single serve and a blue cheese for 62 cents per single serve.

"Quite simply, ALDI wins hands-down when it comes to price and quality. At a time when consumers are cutting back, they don't have to compromise when they shop with us," Aldi Wine Expert and Buying Director Jason Bowyer says of the thought behind the experience.
"Our wines have been created by some of the best winemakers in the world and judged by the harshest critics to take home many of the most prestigious awards in the industry.
"The Trophy Room is a first for Aldi Australia, demonstrating that a fine wine and dining experience doesn't have to dent your wallet. And what's even better, you can replicate the exact experience at home. The reality is everyone can have a wine rack and cheese draw worthy of the title the 'Trophy Room' if they shop the products on offer at Aldi. The value in the range is undisputable, and I'm excited that we can offer customers this experience, whether that be in our new pop-up bar or in their everyday shop."
Tickets to the Aldi Trophy Room and more information are available here, and go on sale on Friday July 8 at 9am AEST.
