If a traditional roast is a must for you but you're keen to cut down on cost and prep time then this airfryer hack is just what you need.

TikTok users have been sharing their love for the trick that will give you delicious and crispy roast potatoes in under 20 minutes – and all you need is a key ingredient that costs under $2.

Rather than opting for normal potatoes that you have to peel and then boil and then roast in the oven, people are using tinned potatoes instead.

You can get your hands on them at Woolies for example for just $1.60.

All you need is an airfryer, oil or cooking spray and seasonings – many are opting for a combination of salt, pepper, garlic; with cajun seasoning also proving popular.

One person says they cook them for 12 minutes at 220 degrees, while a few leave them a little longer.

"I whack them in the air fryer for 20 minutes. But I take them out after 10 and give them a wee shake. Honestly, these are so good. They're so soft and mushy."
