If you want to sip on the best draught beer in Australia, experts say it's located four hours away from this capital city
Australia's best draught beer has officially been found.
In a nail-biting ceremony at the new Star Grand Hotel in Brisbane overnight, industry experts handed down their verdict from a cluster of finalists that had been plucked from each state and territory.
More than 700 VIPs and sector guests bore witness to the declaration that a hotel almost four hours away from a capital city was officially taking home the coveted 2024 AHA National Award for Excellence.

Burnie's The Beach Hotel has officially been given the Draught Beer Quality Award in a competition that's become known as the Australian hotel industry's State of Origin.
"It's the top venues of each state going head-to-head in a winner takes all contest – the chance to be named best of the best," AHA National President David Canny said of the annual 2024 AHA National Awards for Excellence.
"Each and every day all the finalists and their teams work hard to provide the best experience for millions of patrons nationwide," Canny said.
"Whether its food and beverage or staff members who go above and beyond – Aussie hotels are the best in the world and that's on display here today."

Located in Burnie, Tasmania, which is roughly 325km north west of Hobart, The Beach Hotel had beat out every other venue in the state to become a national finalist.
The Beach Hotel then competed against every other state and territory's finalist for the award.
Finalists for the Draught Beer Quality Award included Bentspoke Brewing in Braddon, Australian Capital Territory, The Entrance Social Club in New South Wales, Finn McCool's Irish Bar Surfers Paradise in Queensland, Malt Shovel Taphouse in Adelaide, South Australia, The Tap on Mitchell in Darwin, Northern Territory, The Terminus North Fitzroy in Victoria, and Uraidla Hotel in South Australia.
